Bought a stock 17 SHO with 30k and Im ordering parts.

Probably going to keep this at my Memphis home. So Im wanting to keep it quiet and low key. How loud are the down pipes with high flow cats? Looking at turbos now and the stock DPs look real restrictive. Im also a competent tig welder and thought about just adding an x pipe and buying some DP's. I havent really had it on the lift yet to look at the stock exhaust. Just really trying hard to keep appearance and sound down.

Downpipes alone don’t make much of a difference in sound outside. Definitely not noticeable volume, just bit more healthy.

Thats what I was hoping to hear. I guess high flow cats and adding an x pipe after the ****** is my plan. Just ordered some stainless tube and wire.

I think my neighbors conspired to steal my last car because it had a deep rumble. So I have to keep this thing as quite as possible. Plus they'll see it and think "its a Taurus?" and leave me alone.

thx

There's more grumble with downpipes, but not much more volume. the catback is what really makes or breaks the sound.

I've been downpipes to stock catback for 3 years and love the sound. I have a resonated X-pipe that I plan to install in place of the resonators, but I like the sound so much that I really haven't made the jump.

If you want to see the vast offering available for the SHO, feel free to check out our website linked below. We do offer discounts for forum members :)

Thanks
Yeah, I think thats the same route Im going to take.. Thanks I'll check out that site. Ive got 2 days worth of parts coming in now and Ill order some more while Im on my next trip. I can't do anymore than 2 days in my shop at a time or I'll have a process server looking for me.

Raced at your home track there by the airport many times. There used to be some nasty GN's there and thats who we'd go up there to play with. Wish I could remember names but I know there were two street driven mid/low 9 Grand Nationals up there. My brother still races a back halfed GN (8.60@167ish) He's close to 70 and doesn't run the car as much anymore. Tulsa is a good lil town and all the streets are N,S,E,W can't get lost
