Maintenance items (spark plugs, wires, timing belt, valve lash adjustment, clean intake and TB), exhaust (y-pipe, catback, mufflers), suspension (springs & struts for example). Those are some of the keys to unleashing the power.

Why?

Without a clean, well maintained motor it cannot achieve the power the same as a healthy one. The stock y-pipe is restrictive, lose it. The rest of the exhaust is optional, I chose only to replace my mufflers and kept the stock catback. Suspension because if you can't get the power to the ground and keep it there...well, you'll just sit and spin.

As suggested in the previous post, were your catalytic converters broken apart inside when you replaced them? If they were, some of that material may be further back in your exhaust pipe and causing a restriction.

If that's not the case, then some testing and maintenance is in order. Start with a compression test, maybe remove the intake and clean it out, replace the plugs and wires and all the filters.
