Solenoid wires go where?

its been 3 weeks of getting parts for my 94 sho and win i go to put it back togather the only thing cant get right NOW .is where the 2 hot and 1 ground go on the solenoid.right now the 2 hot are on the top and the gound on the bottom.went to crank it and buzzing sound came form it.can someone please help before my back pocket starts to buzz my way to the auto part.

Ouch, well the two hot go on the solenoid where the bolt is farthest from the engine, the ground goes on the top bolt that holds the starter in there. The little red wire with the plug is obvious it plugs in the solenoid.

thanks for the help,but what about the stud closest to the engine on the solenoid

The fender mounted solenoid is actually a high current relay. One cable goes on one post and the other goes on the other post. Doesn't make any difference which one goes where. When you turn on the ignition the coil of the relay is fed 12V buy the small red wire. This coil pulls in a set of contacts to make the larger cables connection.

Paul a 94 has a starter mounted solenoid.
The post nearest the starter only has the braided wire that goes inside the starter that is all.
