Had my local shop install Z23 pads front and rear on my 2011 SHO today. Wasn't easy "chillin'" to wait for an timely opportunity to find a road/parking lot(s) to break in the pads properly. As I drove away from the shop, I could immediately tell the new pads needed to be broken in (even though the rotors were not changed) as it took MUCH more brake pedal pressure than I was used to to bring the car to a stop. A couple hours later, I was able to follow PowerStops recommendations for at least 30 near-stops from 30 mph to 5 mph, with at least 30 seconds "rest" before the next near-stop, and ... so on. It wasn't easy, but I found a couple stretches of roadway along with grocery store parking lot that let me make at least 30 start-near-stop cycles, along with the (no suprise!) smell of hot brakes. The first 10 were (honestly) not encouraging. The next five were "interesting" meaning "did I feel a change or not?" Around the 15th cycle, I felt a much better "bite" from the pads, and immediately smelled the effect -- yep, HOT brake pads. A few more cycles with 30-second rests between hard braking, and the smell didn't appear unless I was at 40 mph before braking. Fifteen minutes later (no full-stops) of cooling, and there was no residual brake odor. And when I tried a "hard" braking, the grip was immediate and much better than when I'd started, AND there was no new odor. Feels like my new Z23s are ready for the road.

Yeah its about 30 pounds I bet. Don't have a scale at home lol. Now that I think of it I haven't weighed myself in years.

Speaking of "what we've done to our SHO today?" What's the best Northern Virginia shop to retouch OEM (2011) SHO wheels that are showing blistering? Love to have them sho (pun intended!) as well as the 2011 body with relatively few scratches.

Well not mine, but my boss's kid picked up a gray 15 SHO, they are taking the grill out and the belt mldgs off here at the body shop and going to etch prime the chrome and paint it all satin black. I recommended the GH power pack which they picked up and are about to install while the mldgs are in the booth.

Got some new shoes on the way. Bored with my current Mickey Thompson SC-5 wheels 20x9 +32 offset weighing 29 pounds each. It almost looks too "show" car look. I wanted something more aggressive looking, more like a "track" type of look. I ended up going with a very popular wheel, it's on everything, Dodge, Chevy, Pontiac to name a few. Their price on Summit Racing with tax and free shipping came to about $950.

20x9.5 +34 offset and weigh 28.3 pounds each in Matte Black. Best pic of just the wheel I found below. I also found them in Silver for $150 a wheel and was just going to plasti dip them black but they ended up not having them in stock. I would prefer no plasti dip anyway. They should look mean especially with 1" spacers.

Changed PTU and RDU fluid again. Probably not even 500 miles on the fluid I took out. Nice to see clean magnets on those fill plugs. Better safe than sorry as I prepare for a FULL SEND!

I'm using 1" hubcentric spacers that I actually ordered the wrong studs, so like usual I just made it work. After I get the spacer secured to the hub with 1/2 x 20 open acorns, I had to get m14 x1.5 lug nuts to secure the wheel to the spacers with its larger studs. And same tires my Continental Extreme Contact DW tires. Although it appears I should replace my fronts. Currently browsing...I would like to put Nitto NT05 on the front. But I'm getting nauseas from all the spending lol

Just got it back from the shop. New front control arms and a rear upper control arm bushing were all replaced and holy shit, is there a difference. I knew the suspension needed work before I took it in but I never knew it was going to be that big of a difference. I would take corners/turns and it would feel like the wheels are about to cave in/give out.

Next one on the list is the damn catalytic converter.

Such a slow process Dropped off all the tubing for the turbos EPP hot pipes and intake to get the new v-Bands welded on then working on the plumbing for the new IC. After I get that all marked out then take it in to get that all custom cut and welded.
Don't know if I'm going to get all this put back together in time for the show in Pennsylvania on September 3rd
