Lurking Around
@StealBlueSho.......
The grille displayed by SHO5OH is NOT the first aftermarket grille.
A history lesson is needed here. Someone ring the school bell please.
The originator of that grille came from Mr. Adam Genei, owner of Mobsteel. He fabricated that grille in late 2009, for their shop's 2010 SHO which went to SEMA. Mobsteel then produced a second set, for Mr. Rick Bottom, owner of RB Designs. The grille made it's second appearance on Rick's SHO, which also went to SEMA and was affectionately dubbed "SHOx". Google either one of the aforementioned.
I then pestered the bejesus out of Adam and his clan over at Mobsteel, to produce that same grille for my 2010 SHO.
I am the 3rd recipient (in the history of the late model SHO) for aftermarket grilles. That was nearly 6yrs ago.
I even made a personal visit to Mobsteel, post my own install (which by the way, I authored a very detailed "How-To" tutorial on it) to hang out with the boys from Mobsteel to thank them personally for honoring my requests to fabricate it for my SHO.....

Moving along, late model SHO owner's began b!tching about the price point (I think Mobsteel was selling the upper/lower set for $700 painted) so sales were less than stellar. This was a disappointment nonetheless, as I tried my best over the course of a couple of years, to promote sales and move them from the Mobsteel shelves, into the hands of SHO owners. A few owners took up on them, so there are indeed, more out there.
In late 2013, Mobsteel sold off the molds they fabricated to Tommy Z Designs.
Now I've met Tommy personally, and he's a good fellow. Talented too. But there are many testimonials circulating from other customers, in which his lack of follow through, from date of order, to production, and then shipment to the customer, has been reported to be incredibly poor.
Tommy has also changed up the mesh material slightly from how it was first produced by Mobsteel, and honestly, I like the subtle change.
So it's kind of a miracle to say that SHO5OH received his grille from TommyZ's, and yes indeed, it does look good on his SHO as well.
But to say that that is, or was, the "First (aftermarket) Grille" is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off base.
History lesson completed. Carry on!
