I've seen blue and clear, never red. Other than atf there are ps fluids that come in red. Could have dye added for chasing leaks? Maybe there is a performance red brake fluid, but I've never seen one or heard of one. Odd.

Compounded/polished and was going to put the ceramic coat on, but it was bad. Luckily I had enough sealant left so it wasn't a total waste, but I really wanted to join the ceramic party. It's not perfect, but this is best the paint has looked in the almost three years of ownership. Now it's going to snow tomorrow...

I had to replace a license plate light holder due to a broken tab. On my way to work this morning I got pulled over for no Tail lights … hmmm. Turns out when I reinstalled the holder and reinstalled the drive bright light (Which doesn't fit very well) I damaged it and kept blowing a fuse. So for any of you who don't know, Fuse 40 under the dash is for the license plate and running lights (10 amp low profile fuse). Learned something today and at least I got off with a warning.

I found that out the fun way too. When I went to change my license plate bulbs to red LEDs I ordered the wrong size first and crammed em in the hole. When i buttoned it back up and hit the button on the fob it blew that fuse and I was thankfully within walking distance to oreilys.

Did the brakes on the SHO this past weekend. I took the car to So Cal to be a De-Gen. I ripped her up Waterman road (big fast sweeping curves, tight mountain driving) going from the Inland Empire (Fontana, Ontario, Upland) up to Lake Arrowhead and drove the wheels off her. I did end up thrashing the brakes really hard, so they got replaced. They were making noise (all the pads still had 50 percent life or more and the rotors were scored) and my pedal was softer then I wanted.

I went with the Powerstop drilled, slotted, and vented rotors, along with the ceramic pads. Brakes felt a lot better. They are grabbier and smoother, but the pedal was still too soft for my preference. I grabbed my transfer pump and started flushing the brake fluid.

Does Ford put trans fluid for brake fluid in the SHO? My brake fluid was red and literally looked like trans fluid. Long story short, put new Synthetic DOT 4 in it, started the car, and pumped the brakes 100 times with a couple of holds in between. I did this flush method 5 times. My brake pedal feel is alot more firm and the powerstop brakes and pads did a great job bringing the big girl down from 115+ mph this weekend at the track. Also set a new PB with a boost problem at the track lol. I will post about that in the couple of goals post I have.

Long story short, new pads and rotors, brake fluid flush, and PB at the track.

I put power stop rotors on my 03 Expedition with 225,000 miles, and it stopped better than when it was new.

Yeah, I really like how they work. They are a good set up for what I do. We will see what she does when I auto cross her!

Gave it a quick bath yesterday as I haven't really washed it since detailing it around Thanksgiving. Opened the garage door this morning and was greeted to a fresh layer of water on the ground from the rain that came out of nowhere... So that was a waste of my time.

While true, I prefer to hand wash my car when possible. May stop by the car wash today to rinse some of the filth off.

While true, I prefer to hand wash my car when possible.

I've washed my car in the rain and snow by hand. My neighbors are use to it now. With the lower temps I use just a quick spray wax. Warmer temps I'll go back to a liquid.

Gonna put some extra trans fluid in the car today. Figure it would help with some starvation on hard launches. Been recommended by a few.

Just got a boost gauge and trans temp gauge for Christmas. Looking to get them installed later this month.

Can anyone else confirm that there is no drilling required for the trans temp gauge and it’s just replacing a screw? I cannot get under my car easily to check at the moment.

If you're just replacing the drain plug with the temp probe from the gauge kit, you should be fine. The drain hole is a 1/8-27npt, as should be your temp probe. One of the pressure tap plugs on the top of top of the trans are usable as well, but your most accurate reading will come from your sump (drain plug). Hopefully your temp probe doesn't stick out too far below the trans.
