Back in Michigan ... again.
Not kidnapped. I AM one of the bandits :naughty:

No official meet this year. Here's why:

Huntervf after last year's meet said:
Based on how busy it was this year, and the cancellations and the expense at Bavarian Inn, next year will have some major changes, and that's if I decide to host anything at all. Just becoming too of much hassle to plan out, get small gifts then have people back out at the last minute. Had I had the opportunity to redo reservations for the smaller group, we might have avoided the mandatory 17% gratuity. That plus lack of interest (I know there are more than 10 people in this neck of the woods) just makes the whole thing a bit frustrating.

Making reservations for 20 people at Bavarian Inn and fighting the crowds in Frankenmuth isn't like setting aside a table at Applebees. Just got to be too much hassle to have people not interested, or worse, have people back out a day or two before. It was fun, but there just isn't that kind of interest in this state anymore.

That said, for anyone reading the thread and wondering what the **** Frankenmuth or Bavarian Inn are all about, I highly suggest Googling either one, and if your schedule/budget permits, head over during the Christmas season. It's a magical little community this time of year and the chicken at Bavarian Inn is enough to brave a snowstorm for. I'm headed there now with 3 inches of wet snow on the ground and more coming... not gonna stop me

It was definitely worth driving home in a damn ice storm for 4 hours. Methinks the wife and I are gonna make a road trip sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you, Chris, for helping keep the SHO community a community. I am too far away to have been a lucky participant in these gatherings, but can appreciate your efforts nonetheless!

Tim, as I recall, you don't like crowds.
Don't go on a Saturday or Sunday anytime this month.

I was hoping on here to see about the same thing.
It is hard for people to commit and make it happen though.
