Gentleman.
2015, Cold start in the morning, engine warms normally, takes 10 miles to make heat out of the vents. The motor is up to temp by the time I hit the main road. Radiator it full and reserve tank is at level.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are you having a temp issue, or are you having an air movement issue? Have you checked the reserve tank while the car is at operating temp?

Yes the fan works, and the reserve tank is in normal operating range. The car can be up to full operating temp and yet all air, no matter the setting, is still cold. Now, It does get warm but it takes 20 mins to 1/2 hour of driving to blow warm air. Im in Michigan. Still have morning of frost. I noticed it about a month ago, thing to myself, boy its taking a long time to warm up.
Thanks

Are you going by the dummy gauge on the dash to determine you are getting to full operating temp? This sounds like a text book low coolant (esp with our cars) or stuck open t-stat.

100% first thing to check. Coolant level is key to getting the heat to function properly.
I've been chasing coolant leaks in my f150 for 10 months... By chasing I mean I'm too busy with school work to dig in to it so far. Shrinking coolant hose o-rings probably on mine at least.

The lower right heater core hose should temp out (feel) at about 150 degrees F. The outlet should be within 10-30 degrees of the inlet. If it's not, there is a restriction in the core.

You can pinch the hoses, remove the hoses from the core and flush water from the upper left hose to back flush the core and see if any junk comes out.

You could also loop the heater core hoses with clear tube to see what the flow to the core looks like.

Have you changed the cabin air filter lately? Test it by removing the old one.
