Will a regular SLO hood fit my 91? I think most of the posts that I found on this was for 2nd gen. cars, and the others seemed undecided. So other than maybe notching the bracing out for clearance, will it work?

Well, just got back from the scrapyard. Picked up an 89 regular taurus hood for 20$. Hopefully with a little cutting it will work.
While I was out there I saw a black 92 SHO sitting there. Good find.

Without modification a standard Taurus hood will not clear the intake (crossover tube to be more precise) of the SHO engine. Dassin's old Gen 1 had a SLO hood on it when he purchased it, and matching grooves ground into the intake where the hood rubbed.

Just got the new hood on. Took about 5 min. to cut all the middle bracing out with an anglegrinder. It went right on with room to spare above the intake. It didn't take away from the strength of the hood either. I think it looks real good on there.
Are the regular taurus hoods lighter than a SHO hood? The SLO hood I just bought only weighed 46 pds. before I did any cutting, now it only weighs 40. My old plus hood I used to have weighed 45, and it's all fiberglass.
