Yes, the basic narrowband will tell you if something is wrong. Just don't hope to hit the exact a/f ratio on the head with it. But it does give you a general idea where the a/f is at.

Right, I just want to be able to get out of the throttle if it goes WAY lean.

A local SHO guy, not on here anymore, ran a 100 shot for a long time on the stock pump with no problems, sold the car and that guy continued modding it and also has hadno problems. But I would rather be safe and not have to pull the engine in my driveway.

That's exactly why I have mine. Allthough, I do have a WB on the way. :nut:

BTW, you can see my NB gauge in the video in my sig. It's a H.U.D

Im running a 100shot in my 89 right now & I did have a nasty backfire and a huge cloud of black smoke come out my exhaust. My car completely shut down when this happened and it took it like 15 minutes for it to start again. I think I hit the rev limiter as I shifted into 3rd gear???? I think that when the rev limiter hit, the ignition shut off but since my nitrous spays via a full throttle switch the intake manifold kept getting full of nitrous... and when I let off the throttle and the rpms came back down and the ignition kicked back in.... BOOM! When it happened I was halfway down the 1/4 track and a full car ahead of a Dodge Charger R/T on slicks! I thought my whole intake manifold had blown off but once I rolled (literally) down the track I was happy to see my engine was still in one piece.

Im not trying to discourage you at all, just letting you know what happened in my situation. For the record I only had this happen once out of about 5 10lbs. bottles.

Anyway Im still running my same setup that consists of a 155lph http://store.summitracing.com/partd...925239+4294839053+4294836951+115&autoview=sku fuel pump, 2 heat ranges cooler (copper core) spark plugs & thats about it. Its still running strong without any further problems, I always run 91 octane fuel in my SHO

I was thinking of a window switch to only activate it between about 3400 RPM and 6800 RPM so that I could launch and keep it off the limiter...

Change your rod bearings ASAP!!!!!!! Trust me on this one.... I had a nitrous backfire per se, smashed a rod bearing. But it did not show itself for a few weeks.... I wasn't running the car when this happenend, it was at start up.

That was directed mainly at baysho, towards the nitrous backfire.... but yes changing the rod bearings is always a good idea.

Thanks for the info... I was really thinking about freshening up my motor with rod bearings and a list of other maintenance things. But I think I'll just do it to a 3.2L long block... I figure if Im going to spend the time, money, and trouble of doing it why not do it to a 3.2? Once again thanks!:salute:

Would a regular AFR guage work ok? I don't have plans of any other F/I... on this car...so I could just watch that, if it goes lean shut the N20 off, right?

Right now I'm feeling that a 155lph is just relatively cheap insurance.

I liked having the WB as I could use the reading to help tell me how much fuel I had left when upping niotrous jets.

@not spraying on launching...The way I had my ARM/ON switch I wired it so there was enough slack the I could have it in my hand and click it on just before I was hooking. That way I could turn it off right away if I had a problem. I have also seen a hold down push button type, but that was on auto's where they had a completely free hand.

IMHO a window switch is pointless unless your powershifting or have an auto and dont want to spray through your shift points. My $.02

Ok guys and Gals, my kit shipped today and I'm getting excited. How hard is it going to pull compared to stock? I have no idea what to look forward to.

If you have anything but some sticky racing tires, dont plan on using the giggly button in 1st gear. :naughty:

I had no problems in 1st, neither did my buddy and neither of us had real sticky tires.(Not talking about launching, but from a roll in 1st)

As far as how hard it pulls it depends A LOT on the jetting you use and bottle pressure, but mainly jetting. If you go 100 out of the box it will pull very nicely.:woohoo:
