I am new here, but i have been reading alot of the forums. So here is the question..my car sits tail down. It handles fine, its just that it sits lower at the rear than the front. Also when people ride in the back, my hitch turns into a skid plate. There is no clunking from the struts, or oil leakage. Everything appears fine. Any ideas? and if it is struts and springs what would be a good replacement? This is my highway hauler so a overly aggressivesuspensions is not that necessary. Thanks for your time.

the saggign in the rear is typical of older SHO's. it sounds liek your probably need new struts and springs. i got eibach springs for 220$ and the kyb gr2 struts for 44$ a piece (on shox.com i believe). i am satisfied with my set up. when u replace your struts and springs u should also repalce other parts such as strut mounts, etc.

It is the job of the springs to support the mass of the car. The struts may have a slight extension force due to the gas pressure inside, but their purpose is not to support the car. It is the springs that have fallen down on the job (literally) and will need to be replaced. If the struts are OEM or cheap replacements and are over 40,000 miles old, they should be considered for replacement too. The labor to replace the struts, springs or both, is the same.

hey, Another Edmonton guy. Unfortunatly I can't help you with your question but there is somebody here trying to start a local sho club. if you are interested I will give you his email. I will have to keep an eye out for you.

btw: where abouts do you live. there are a couple other locals here. One lives in riverbend and the other on the west end(?), while I live near southgate.

I live in Toronto and the eibach springs are available at canadian tire. They are in the performance catalogue. Ian R. Good Luck.
