Contour rear window switch

I did the rear Contour window switch repair about six months ago and it is working great.

I did'nt have to do anything to the cage or grind anything down on the sunroof cover. The hardest part was drilling the holes in the pins, just be paitent and use heat shrink to keep the wires from shorting together. I got the switch off ebay for around twenty dollars and it took about thirty minutes to splice in the new wires and drill the holes.

Given the build quality of the new napa switches this is the best way to go.
It looks great and there is only a very small gap around the new switch. I like it alot better than the plain brown switch. The contour switch is lighted and the feel is much better.

Lastly the switch is held in by the spring clips on the back side and the switch face on the front. The switch is designed to carry the current for the window so it is plenty enough for the sunroof motor.

YES! Finally got the sunroof closed. Now on to see if this contour window switch mod will work instead. Does it matter what year car the switch comes from. I think I saw a '95 and a '97 switch on ebay, so does it matter?

BTW, now that the cage that the switch goes into is now modified to fit the napa switch, will it work with this new one? If not, anyone have any extras kicking around?

Thanks all for your help. :thumb:

My switch was out of a 95. Just make sure it is a rear window switch.

I did'nt have to modify the cage at all so It won't matter if you modified it or not. The switch fits just fine and does'nt move around or shift at all.

When you get your switch you will need to take a dremmel and cut off the plastic harness receptacle to get to the pins. It will make sense when you
see the switch...
