I just noticed this today - there is a silver fluid leaking from my transmission/rod shifer connection area - or thats where I think see it... car smells like it's burning somthing as well when you shut it off- almost smells like hot brakes. I have no idea nd I can't seem to pick out this smell... please help! Any info would be great!

it's a 94 MTX 100k on it.

Silver? I hope that's just dirty ATF.
There is a shift shaft seal that resides under the rubber dust boot. You can replace this with the car on jack stands. If I remember right, you din't need to drain any fluid either.

Also check the seals where the CV shaft slides in. Felpro 3622

I agree with Area91 on the shift shaft seal. It is super easy to replace.

Silver fluid is a new one on me. It should be pink or red since it is ATF.

I can explain the smell. If the fluid is not changed often enough, it gets a smell I most compare to burned gunpowder. I highly recomend changing your fluid, as it probably needs it. Try to collect the fluid in a clean container so you can see if the "silver" is from metal flakes in the dirty fluid.

Hmmm, silver fluid is fluid with fine metal particles suspended in it. I would drain the transmission fluid asap and inspect. Install a drain plug if yours does not already have one.
