been dreaming a bit and looked at the cowl hood. It says that hood pins are required or you are at your own risk. Why? how come i see other folks using these hoods with no pins? I really dont want to install pins but i love the hood.

Get those hoodpins that are flush with the hood. Thats what i've been looking into.

Also, I've seen a few stories on here about people who are driving along then the nice cowl hood they have flips up and smashes the windshield/dents the roof.

If you drive with the cowl hood without pins, it'll pop open and slam on the windshield. My friend just had this done to his show a few weeks ago. had to replace the windshield and order and new cowl hood.

BTW I'm running pins on my Cincy, not because I'm worry it will separate (no Cincy had ever separated IIRC) but because I had to modify the latch bracket to a point that I no longer trust it to hold down the hood by itself.

hmm. seems to me that some companies are starting to cease production on certain parts for these cars. does anyone have a link to these flushmount pins? Could they be painted to match the car or are they chrome?

love your car randy. I have been wondering about the cobra rims. just dont know whether to go chrome or not. My baby is red and will be getting the windows tinted shortly. So I am leaning towards chrome so maybe the chrome pins wont stand out too much.

I had hoodpins. One had wiggled off.

For the record, those Aerocatch pins are HUGE, and won't fit the curve of the hood.

when i get a carbon/fiberglas hood, i'll be running pins...but i'll be running the locking ones and removing the latch system altogether.

X2. Yes they're flush, but IMHO they look horrible. I'm quite content with my cheapo pins that look tidy and doesn't ruin the looks of the hood.
