The main SHOCAGO server is down. Neno and I are looking into it.

We will keep you updated. Untill then we can use this nice forum that Beth has provided us

It's looking grim for our old server, although no official word has been given as to the cause/decision(s) that have led to this. Still in the process of figuring it out... Hopefully it'll be a PROcess and not a.. well, you know.

Another forum I am on recently lost a lot from their server. I guess it actually started on fire!

Thanks for all the hard work Ryan and Neno. I don't know anything about running a server, but I can imagine it's quite a lot of work.

Actually, a old high school friend of mine, Alec, should be thanked. Not only were we given a server to run what some of us consider our "home", but it we were allowed to use it at no cost to us. Now I have to find the guy!!! :woohoo:

Well, yes. He's kinda hard to find when you don't have a cell # or really know where he lives anymore. Last resort is his job place. Even there, though, I'm not sure if he's working there. There seem to be quite a few ****** off people on the web about the server he was running abruptly being pulled offline. I wonder what happened?!

Regardless, looks like it just might be time for SHOcago to find a new server to run off.

What kind of computer does it take to be a server? I ask only because I might have something. That's if what I have can "serve" as a server.

Well, that's a good question. It more about the connection you're running to be a good server. Nothing to spiced up, but you also need to learn how to "run" a server. We'd be better off figuring out a way to pay for such a service, really. It was quite a good run we had, though!

How is BBTS hosted? Would it be possible to share or piggyback onto that for free?

If not, I'm sure a little donation drive could probably cover a year's worth of hosting somewhere.
