Went out to the car to go to work last night and low and behold it doesn't want to start after it was just running 3 hours prior to that. When the key is turned over in the ignition theres not even a clicking noise from the starter or anything. The relay however does click. Is this the solenoid or the starter making this problem occur or could it possibly be something else??? Any help is much appreciated, because until I get this fixed I have no vehicle

start out by checking the battery cable connection to make sure it didn't come loose!
^^Start w/ this^^

But more than likely it's your starter. Pretty easy to take out and bring it to Advance or any auto shop to have tested. I can personally tell you 4+ "stories" of my own personal starter woes! Sometimes you get a good one that lasts forever, and sometimes you swap 3 in a month. Same goes for Alternators...

Before you start changing parts get the battery checked. Mine took a dump overnight. It was showing 12 volts at idle but did not have enough power to turn the engine. Needless to say i put a starter in before i realized it was not the problem.

I agree- start with the battery. If you can get it started also check the alternator. Mine had the battery light come on and after starting twice no problem had a no-start because the alternator was draining the battery. I was able to start the car the next day (had to jump the battery...let it sit connected to the other car for a while and it still wouldn't start until much later) and pulled the negative battery cable to diagnose the alternator. If not that, I believe you can touch a screwdriver to two posts on the starter. If you get a spark, your starter is theoretically good. If not, it's died on you.

Well I'm finally about to go out get it in the garage today. We just moved into a house a couple months ago and needed to clean out the garage (you wouldn't believe the shit that was in there, including the landlords '70 Monte Carlo). I told him to get that ol' turd outta there to make room for the real car lol But anyway, I'm pretty sure the battery has enough power as my relay clicks (like I stated before) and I get headlights, stereo, climate control, etc. By the way I noticed before the no start thing happened that my water pump is most likely going to fail here fairly soon. It sounded like the bearings were havin a fit inside there, but no water was coming out of the weep holes yet. So that'll be the next adventure I embark on.
