Hey guys,

My wife went to get in her 2012 SHO today and the car wouldn't start. The starter acts like it's trying for about a quarter of a second, but then stops. I tried it myself a few times and it's the same thing.

The brake pedal is VERY stiff right now. Typically when you get in, it allows you to depress the pedal to start the vehicle, but it's locked up.

I initially thought maybe something is bad with the battery, but I put it on a charger and it wasn't even pulling any amps. After I tried to start the vehicle a few times, it jumped up to 5. But all of the electronics in the vehicle work with the FOB and the accessory power comes on after the car fails to start.

I Googled around and even read some other posts on here, but am not sure what to do now other than let it charge and see what the issue is? Any other ideas? I saw the one thread saying to try the other FOB and I haven't done that yet, so I'm about to go try that now. Can't exactly take it to the dealership if I can't get it to start, ya know?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: So I gave it some time on a trickle charger and it finally did start. Tried it with both FOBs and they both work to start the car, so I'm guessing initial assumption was correct that it is the battery. Scheduled appointment to go to the shop on Thursday and going to let it charge up until then. It needs to go in for some recalls anyways, so they'll get it taken care of.

If going with Motorcraft, see if they'll pop in an 850 CCA Tough Max unit. I don't think they'll do this if the replacement is a warranty thing, but if you are OOP, then definitely. Doesn't hurt to ask.
