To each their own. I love me a good Franken car. Fastest street legal track car I ever saw was a Porsche 944 with a 383 stroker under the hood. That thing hauled, and held turns for days. I'd be afraid to drive it, lol.

My last Chevy was a 377 powered 1984 S-10 regular cab and crank windows. Cut out the heater box to make everything fit. Hammered the floor and firewall. Turbo400 to a Ford 9inch axle. It was fast, too damn fast. I wrecked it when the throttle spring broke on a showoff dragrace on a 2lane road. Drove through a gas station.

Not a base C8. A ZR1 version.

That WON'T cost over half a million.

Thanks, ford, for making a car only Saudi princes in Dubai can afford.

They didn't want any ******* to buy one. They aren't marketed as affordable for everyone. They are exotic and Ford wants them to be driven by real car guys. You have to apply to buy. Chevy needs to learn if they want respect. I do give them credit for one thing it seems like they know marketing. Who else could sell a vehicle with square wheelwells? Not to mention I still get sick when I see my bosses gmc Denali pick-up.... What kinda Ram/Toyota bastard child is this?

S***box interior? What the **** are you looking at? That's a good looking interior design for a driver focused car, ***. Knock that off.

Now the materials aren't the highest quality, but I can't think of any American car that has a European-luxury or Italian-exotic level interior.

Although, yeah, old Cheeto's wall did get built in there.

I mean, I understand, to be fair. I considered doing a Boxter with an LS before I decided to stay American. There's certainly some badass cars that are Frankensteined.

I just want relatively unique projects under my belt when I'm old. That's why I have such oddballs on my plate.

What about that steering wheel???? LMAO
That dash looks so confused, it's probably pieced together from all of the low end GM products. What the **** is up with the dash.... seriously.
That phone holder? LMAO
The mode button cover? The weird gearshiftthingwtf?

Gonna need a confined space permit to get in one of these.
Honey they shrunk my interior space. Don't worry it was made for skinny jeans...
I guess you don't need recaro seats if you sit in a bathtub.

I'm 40. Well, basically 41.

I'm very much not a truck guy, but my wife is a truck girl, and when we get one, I'm trying to get her to get a Navigator or Escalade. Either would provide a pretty cool platform to fiddle with.

We are the same age lol
Absolutely agree with you on the SUV choice, either one would be amazing.

I'm more of an old muscle kind of guy but I don't have the space or extra cash for the type of project. I got the truck because I wanted to keep modding but I didn't want to risk breaking my daily driver. These trucks are almost bulletproof unless you get really stupid with it.

I've always wanted a transam similar to this one:

Oh, I wasn't really insinuating that you were older than me - that was an "You have taste like an old guy" comment.

My daughter has "Ok boomer" in her arsenal of slick phrases, despite the fact I'm not a Boomer.

I admire older cars, and I actually love restomods, which I think that Trans-Am veers towards with the drivetrain swap. But for whatever reason, I don't have much of an interest in actually building one. I grew up in Cali, so my first real love of cars centered around lowriders. I had a 1979 450 SEL on some 14-inch 100-spokes.

That interest turned towards the tuner scene in the late nineties, and that continued until the mid 00s. I never really got a car that I played with during this phase. I just didn't have the money.

I discovered custom exotics and luxury vehicles somewhere in the 00s, and that's really where I settled. I've had 3 Caddies and 2 Lincolns.

I'm somewhat unsure why I favor owning American cars in this segment, too, but ... I do, so whatever.

I just picked up extra space a couple years ago when I bought my house, so I'm 100% with you there. A little spare room would make things so much easier.

I don't know about the 2.7. I was going to get a 2.0 before I settled on the 3.5. But the power offered was just too ... not enough. And the backseat is small.

I have a project I wanna do with the 2013-2016 MKZ/Fusion. I just haven't decided which one to do yet, a 3.5 EB swap, or a Coyote.

An E.B swap shouldn't require much more than some clever bashing in of the firewall to clear the rear turbo, because they already come with the 3.7, which shares blocks with the 3.5. And it shouldn't be hard to put the 6f55 in, either - it already comes with the 6f50.

And I've seen a Coyote-powered Fusion drift-car, and there are some pretty cool things like how the subframe from the 5th gen mustang pretty much bolts directly to the front and stuff. Lots more cutting here, and I don't know how bad the interior would get with how tall the trans-tunnel has to be and whatnot.

But, that's two options for that platform that I wanna do one day.

In stock form, though, at least in 13-16, the fusion drivetrain is NOT better.

My dad had a body shop so I got a lot of variety of cars to look at. My very first car was a 70 Olds 442 that we rebuilt together. Which is probably why I like older cars. There was also a guy that fixed electric motors that had a 67 gt500 that would take me on rides a few times a year.

I bought a 1989 trans am after I was forced to sell that car for financial reasons. Then I traded/bought the S10 from my dad. After I wrecked it I had a 98 trans am. Then a bunch of crappy cars and a few motorcycles lol then I started getting into Fords starting with crown vics and had a few different cars and trucks. A couple Audi's mixed in and a few other SUVs.

I've seen and ridden in a few 2.7 fusions and a few 2.7 trucks, they actually come close to the 3.5. looking at 500+whp on the truck version fairly easy. Probably around 470whp on the car version. IDK what the difference between them is.

That completely explains it - first car? I had a Dodge Diplomat! Haha! You had a cool first car, man.

I bought a 1989 trans am
Yeeeessss. Beast.

I had a 98 trans am.
Noooo. Spaceship.

As far as that 2.7 goes in the Fusion platform, that started in 2017 and replaced the 2.0 I was initially going to buy. That is a nice motor. I'm betting the transmission still has the weaknesses it had before, though, unless they toughened it.
