I posted this a while back asking what may have caused it. leave for work at 6am yesterday and get about 3 miles down the road and check engine light comes on and starts flashing. meanwhile the car starts misfiring really bad. pull off down a side street and turn it off for a few minutes. this time had a very hard time starting and when it did smelled fuel realy bad. said screw it and drove to work. few hours later turn the car back on and same thing. hard to start and smelled fuel. misfire went away after a few minutes but light remained on. ttook it to autozone and ran codes. code came back with something about low fuel pressure/fuel rail and ignition coil cylinder 2. cleared code and drove home with no issues. might have been bad gas cuz I just put gas in it the night before. and have had a lot of rain this week. hopefully that's all it is.

Fingers crossed, you are right! Coils rarely fail on the SHO, but I suppose it is possible. Much more likely a fuel injector issue. HPFP (aside from the 2013MY recall) and LPFP also are very reliable, but the fuel pressure control module (FPCM) sometimes gives out.

If you keep smelling fuel, I'd take it in to the shop right away. With any luck, they are competent enough to figure it out.

Leaky injector maybe? Coils are quick and easy!
