I know MTX's are the weak link when making power, but can't a bad **** MTX be built? I'm sure that if someone is shelling out cash to build a nice boost motor, why not go the long route and build a bad MTX? I'll post another thred about my MTX homework.

Scott built his MTX V8 '96 SHO with a Mazda box. He first bought a Contour box, but then switched.

Seems to me that something like a Mazda box could be adapted, as Scott did it with a car that never had an MTX in the first place.

Maybe the box isn't stronger, but parts are more readily available. There are also Volvo boxes out there that folks have discussed.

If I ever suffered a brain injury and decided to build a blown SHO, this would be my first part of the project.

Thanks for the info Ron. I know a boosted SHO is going to be a challenge, but I'm building this SHO. My wife also thinks I'm nuts, she tells me I should just go get a new Mustang or something, but I like my SHO way too much. Besides, why pay all of that $ for something that is going to sit in my garage 8 months out of the year? I've got some time before it gets started on, so trying to figure out a route. Sorry for the thred hyjack, I'm still waiting for updates on the turbo kit.

Yeah. Although, after having 6 vehicles in the driveway last year, and getting down to 4, I'm back up to 5!! Although the "Garage Queen" almost doesn't count, in my mind, since it isn't driven much at all.

Anyway, I want a track/play car. Another 911 would be nice, been toying with a used Viper, but a used Mustang Cobra with the IRS might do it.

Nonetheless, this wouldn't be a daily driver. SHOs fit that bill pretty well.

Although not as well as an SVT Focus!!

What is the ETA on some details? What boost level is it setup for? Just a little hint, maybe?

I remember reading that the stock internals are good upto about 10psi with a safe tune. Of course some have run past that, but then there is less margin for error.

Should be a couple of weeks, Just need another dyno.

Minneshota convention reveal? Sounds like this is gonna be one badass kit!

I will be there with the turbo.

I hope it spools better on the street.

EDIT: Looks like a good place to induce some lean-spool via the WOTFM.

I also would like to know more about the turbo specs as it seems like it should have a lot more power in the mid range.

Thank you, SHO Source for bringing us more goodies to spend our hard earned money on. ;)

Okay, so how much is a 100 hp going to cost us? While I do understand tooling and all the other fabrication costs, I sure hope it is affordable and not something insane, especially for as long as everyone has had to wait for this.

Waiting with baited breath, when are kits available for purchase?

They realesed the pictures, and video of the kit that everyone bitched about not having forever, then less than 24hr's later the bashing continues? Bunch of ungrateful impatient beings on this forum if you ask me.
