This, way before the thread got off track, pretty much states what the plan is. So it is a moot point.

BUT...The reason I say what I did, is that the SHO community as a whole is a bunch of cheap bastiches. The likelyhood of someone purchasing pipes from SS, then coming back and purchasing each other part of the kit, and paying extra for shipping on each part, is about nil, less actually. If you can not afford it at once, you will get the pipes, and then get some cheap chinese knock off parts from Ebay to save a hundred bucks (or more likely, you will just talk about purchasing it, and how SS should for sure make it, then come up with some excuse about how keeping even a stock SHO up to par costs to much, so you are selling it for something more reliable, and now can not be counted on to purchase the stuff). It justs gets so old. Why should SS spend the time it takes to engineer a quality set of pipes, intercooler/piping, tuning, that will work for most MTX SHO's without major fabrication from the end user, only to have the end user buy the pipes only (which will net them at most $150-250 a set), and benefit from all the work that SS performed. Quit being cheap. If you want it, save up some money, buy it. I apologize if I sound like a *****, but it just gets so old. Sorry to muddle up your thread LOUDSHO. I just want you guys to succeed.

We do realise that SHO owners are cheap. We get to experince it every day.
We will have a few options for the kits.

I think we got what we needed in terms of which turbo to go with.

I wouldn't say as much cheap, as economical! Ive been saving for said build for a while, but that still doesnt mean i will have X grand ready. I just like to look for the best "deal: i can get.. Nothing wrong with that.. In the end i WILL pay what they ask and will do so without complaint! Im just really excited to see this product in the works!

For the people who buy the tubo kit, take it to a performance shop and have it installed, there is no issue on how the kit was sold. All of these kits will see the road.
For the people who buy the turbo kit and install it themselves, shosource will need a parts list and individual parts or sub kits purchasing method. This will prove to be a very difficult and time consuming activity, and so much time will pass that parts will be lost. I wouldn't be surprised if some customers re-buy the same part more than once. Only about half of these kits will see the road with the original purchaser.
For the customer that starts out buying parts or sub-kits (needed for #2 above), they will be "working on their turbo car" right up to the time they no longer have a SHO. None to very, very few of these kits will see the road.
And no harm done, these people will still be living the dream.

Just make option one it will work out pretty nicely. Selling piping separate wouldn't be bad too. Even if they never complete it all they will probably want to buy your piping to save them ALOT of work..

The best way to learn about a turbo car is to drive one and have to work on it
I read alot online before having a turbo car and understood it alot but you reeeeallly understand it when it comes to life daily. Option 2 is unnecessary... If you can't run the oil line you wont be able to install the kit yourself anyways.. And almost every turbo car is set up like option 1 even the ones from the factory.

A kit to make 300 -350 HP so you dont destroy the rest of the car / tranny or a 400-500 HP kit that will lead to a never ending money pit??

300-350hp so you are LESS LIKELY to destroy the rest of the car. I have seen people blow up a bone stock car.

i added up all my expenses over the last few years in getting my car ready for my turbo build. i reached 8k and i dont even have a quaife or forged pistons yet.

when its said and done i would probably have spent 10k on only around 350whp.

This is the reason why i got a set of toolmans pipes. i like to do everything myself. If you want turbo pipes, place an ad in the wtb and someone will get you some of toolmans. if you havent got the first clue about putting a turbo into a sho, then buy the shosource kit. This is simple.

Theres less tech talk in here and more buisness talk. Shosource started with nothing and now they are about to be selling a turbo kit. I think they know how to run a buisness guys.

I think I added my SC build up at one time and came up to around $4,500 for 381whp. The blower alone was $2k, but the rest included the fuel pump, injectors, boring the rails, TwEECer, piping, hoses, fittings, etc... After spinning a bearing from running the oil too hot from the extra power (long extended intervals without oil cooling), I later built a $5k motor.

For the average rusted out SHO, maybe.... Depends what you're trying to do with it. Whenver I get a chance to build an all-out, gutted track car, it won't be with a brand new car.
