The original Linear springs are much lower than the Eibach's and Intrak's. Add in the eventual sag and you'll be sittin' low, G.

They're a little expensive in this auction but it would, otherwise, be very difficult to find them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=600532861&r=0&t=0

yes they are lower. we don't have exact numbers because they haven't been produced in a while. i don't think intrax lowers 1 1/2 inches. i think SS would lower around 1 3/4- 2" in front and 1 1/4 in back.

Yes Yohancee, in the long run they are lower than all of the lowering springs ever made for SHO. I got mine about month before SHO Shop discontinued them, glad I did.

Are there any disadvantages in having the SHOshop springs rather than Eibach or Intrax? Why did they ever discontinue making them in the first place?

I don't think there are any disadvatages to them. I think it was just economics. Eibach and Intrax are bigger operations and could probably produce springs cheaper. Add to that, most people prefer a mild drop to a near 2" drop and Eibach and Intrax appealed to a wider market and out sold the SS springs. I had them on my car for 2 years and loved them. I recently sold them on ebay since I've switched to coil-overs.

I have 3 1/2" clearance between the ground and the bottom of the front bumper cover on my '91 with SHO Shop linears. I started with 3" but I scraped off a 1/2" (just kidding).

I've got a set of sho shop springs sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. How does everyone that uses them like them. Is the ride sacrifice worth the improvement in handling?

If you have the extra cash the coil covers from ipt would probably be your best bet because you can ajust the drop you want. I think you can drop it like 3 inches or more with those things.

With any drop of over 2" you are going to roach the CV joints in the axles. Might look cool in the driveway or at a car show, but you are asking for real problem. Best bet is to go with the Intrax slight more drop than the Eibach's and trim the stop tab on the back side of the strut. This allows the strut to be lowered inrelationship to the hub by another 1/4" to 1/2". If you have Koni's, this isn't an option because the securing bolt on the bottom of strut tube will rub the CV joint's boot.

Are you talking for SHO's or all cars in general? I had my SS springs since August of 2000 with no problems not even camber issues with my 18's(camber is within stock spec w/o camber kit). Plus my car is a little lower than what the SS springs allow b/c of the "custom" work I had done. I guess some ppl aren't knocking on wood as often as they should be to rid of these problems you speak of

We don't have exact number because even when they were produced, some dropped 1 inch while others dropped 3 or more inches. Very poor quality spring. You take your chances when buying these used.

With some not dropping the car the full amount that is enough right there to make me steer away from them. What piece are ya'll talking about shaving away on the strut. If shaved will that make it lower.
