Could be faulty install, could be faulty parts....IIRC Fred had a similar kit slipping within 10 or so miles after the install. Did you follow the proper breakin period for the clutch? That also can cause problems as well.

To add to what Beth has posted, did you have the rear main seal replaced when you had the clutch job? A leaking rear main seal will cause oil to come in contact with the clutch material- hence slippage. Also, have your tried adjusting the clutch by pulling up on the clutch pedal until you hear it click?

yes the rear main was done. and he said the would be no break in time for that clutch. i have a bad feeling that i need to break the clutch in. but i trusted the guy that told me i didnt have to. we are good friends. were. and yes i already did the pull up on the clutch thing, and the foot slide and let the pedal fly up. nothing. i swear this car is ******* me the **** off. some ******* thought he beat me cause he took of on the highway and i stayed back not doing anything, with my hands in the air like wtf. this car is this close to going to the ******* junkyard. :madflame: :madflame: :madflame: :madflame: :madflame: :madflame:

For every clutch there is a beak in period of 500 miles of street driving. You should not take it over 4k untill then. It seems that you might have already fried it. Also is it difficult when you try and put it in gear? Like it doesnt want you to put it in? Is there any chatter when you relese the clutch and have it in neutral?

To adjust the clutch you have the car off but in gear. Then you pull up on the clutch and then slowly push the clutch all the way down to the floor. If the clutch needed to be adjusted it will click. Then just release the clutch.

no i have no problem putting it into gear, it slides in no problem. but the wierd thing is is that it dosent slip in 1st. or maybe it does but i cant tell it does. i guess becass of the gearing? yeah i think i didnt do the proper break in. but the first day i got it i really didnt rag on it, but then again, the next day was a little different. iguess thats why it lasted this long cause i really didnt rag on it the first day or so. i knew there was a break in period for clutches, but my friend said go ahead and drive it normally, and that i didnt have to break it in. i was like are you sure. he was like yeah im positive. not!! i swear this car gives me major problems. :madflame: :madflame: :madflame:

Well I could come and take the car off your hands. :D

I would have your "friend" replace the clutch on his dime for giving you porr information though you should of know better so you may have to go in half and half. Next time do go above 4k untill 500miles of street driving. It is taking me several weeks to reach that point.

I would get the same exact thing but dont pay the $600. :D

It really is the ClutchMasters Stage 1 clutch which is what I have and I like it. You really do not need much unless you were going to be doing a lot of mods. I have all the bolt ons and I am doing good so far. You can get the clutch at Midwest for much cheaper. It fixes the problem of the weak straps so it should be good. I would try and get the "friend" to help with cost though.

I had a problem with a defective ford PP. clutch wasn't slipping but it wasn't releasing the disc all the way when the pedal was pushed, pulled it out and had nasty heat marks on the PP side but not bad on the FW side.

Moral of the story I learned..buy from Josh, less you want to be doing the job again. His pp's are machined flat and seem to be of higher quality, Installed 3 of them so far with nary a complaint, 2 stock discs, and one 9-puck.

Slippage can also happen if the PP bolts weren't properly TQ'd and loctite'd, as they can start to back out and then the PP isn't doing its job properly :-(

Yep, 25 miles after install, the Hi Revs Jr kit's pressure plate was nearly useless.
