All,

Just wanted to share the photos of my SHO that rolled when my son-in-law was driving to visit his father who works second shift. Apparently, he dozed off, hit a parked car, and rolled onto the roof. He survived with only a sore shoulder. The SHO, not so much. All airbags deployed and the car called 911. He normally drives his 2002 Civic, however, he had some engine problems so asked if he could take the SHO. Probably saved his life, since the Civic only has a driver wheel airbag and thin A-pillars that probably would have caved when the car landed on its roof. Cars can be replace, people cannot. We are blessed

You can probably buff that out.
A long time ago I put my new pre-airbag Volvo on its roof on its way to a full rollover. While the commercials where they used to stack the cars were later admitted to have been reinforced, those were heck of strong and the car didn't even lose all of its windows. When I went to the dealer to get another the salesmen just asked me if I had any good pictures that they could show their other customers.... Oh, and THEN he asked if I was OK.

All,

I suggested that it could be buffed out to the insurance company, but they decided to total it. Got approximately $20,500 for a 2015 with about 90K miles, so can't complain. After looking at possible replacements (another SHO - no PP and CPO's available in entire US), a Kia Stinger GT2 (cannot get myself to spend $40K+ for a used KIa, would have to completely de-badge it), and Alfa Romeo Guilia TI Sport AWD's (my first love but smaller and none in the area), we purchased a 2018 Ford Fusion Sport. Will pick it up as soon as our loan is approved. But will be leaving this forum and join the Fusion Sport forum. **** dyno says not a lot of difference in acceleration, similar interior room, and smaller outside. Looks like my winter tires will also fit, which is a plus. Also purchased a 1994 Alfa Spider for my Alfa fix. It has the advantage of being a 2 seat ragtop. Nowhere's near as fast in a straight line, but watch your rear view mirrors in the twisty parts.

Many of the issues mentioned here (PTU fluid changes, etc) are also discussed on the FFS board. An AWD performance Ford sedan is an AWD performance Ford sedan apparently.

Best of luck to all in the future, and hopefully nobody will test the SHO's safety features like my son-in-law did.

Again, glad the son-in-law is okay. Enjoy the Fusion Sport, I thought about one of those when I went looking for a SHO, but there weren't any within three states that I could afford, lol. Not to mention wanted the extra room, I've got a two year old in a car seat and a six year old in a booster, add in the eight year old and it's a full house.

There's a few former SHO folks with the 2.7 TT Fusion Sport. IMO, the Fusion should have been called the Taurus, and the Taurus the Crown Vic, but whatever..... They really wake up with a tune.
