SHO plus upkeep

I know there are`nt that many plus owners here,but i think you Gen II guy`s may be able to help also.The black on my pillars is starting to look pretty ratty.Ford used to sell the black out kit years ago,but that doesn`t help me now.What do you do about chips in the black?I`ve been told that the actual pluses were black stickers and not paint,so would vinyl work good,or should i just repaint them in a flat black next spring?

I just had the Ford body shop paint the black part of my GenI mirrors I bought because they were scratched and faded. I wanted it to match the pillars on my car so they used a paint called Satin Black, matches perfectly; not glossy just flat black. Hope that'll help.

Yep...paint 'em. I have the stuff to do my B and C pillars, but I haven't gotten around to getting them done yet. I got some masking tape, wet/dry sandpaper, primer, and a can of flat black paint. I'll get those SOBs painted one of these days.
