The accessory delay feature is different from the remote window down feature. That accessory delay is what allows you to turn off the engine and continue to listen to the radio, operate the windows or sunroof, and operated the rear window shade until either the delay times out or a front door is opened. I don't think the remote window down feature is configurable.

Rod, I agree with you but I don't think we were talking about the remote window down feature, just the the global opening. But thanks for clearing it up that you do need to use the scan tool to activate and deactivate this feature.

I have no idea, I know I tried on several occasions. I know a fews was probably because of the accessory delay. And the other times I may have remote started 1st, not sure if that would prohibit? Probably have to open windows 1st and then remote start.

The remote start probably does activate the accessory delay relay and may be why the windows won't lower. The timeout for the accessory delay could be significant, you probably need to wait several minutes or maybe even an hour after the remote start times out to use the global open feature.

I would think that is correct and that once the car is running the global open function would be disabled.

Worst invention ever.
One morning while living in Boston I came out to my car with its windows open and Sunroof completely open (2008 MKZ). The car was ransacked and everything stolen including a $1,000 GPS for my motorcycle, manual and keyless entry code. Had the dealership replace the main cpu so I could have a new code that cost $745.
Then numerous times at work I have had people come up to me and advise me that my windows are open - and it's been snowing for a few hours; oh.... 3" of snow in my front seats. And it has been pouring when they have accidently opened. Hate that option.:salute:

In my 88 tbird I installed a aftermarket alarm system and one of the relays I had installed was to roll up the windows. So if it was raining and I left them down I could put them up and arm the car - makes sense to me. The security guy even asked me if I wanted to have a relay to roll down the windows and I dais **** no! What if they were to go down and I didn't realize and someone got in there? Well 15 or so years later I was proven right.

Have you figured out why the windows on the MKZ keep rolling down? Do you have a defective key fob or are you storing it in a way that the button gets pressed and held regularly? For the key fob to do it you cannot be all that far from the car....
