The motor on my car was resently re-built. Everything seem to be in order when the car is driving normal. Until the 2nds open then the car falls on its face. Could this be timing or maybe fuel related. Input please :thankyou:

73mm maf and hyperchip will make it hard to diagnose. Can you pull the chip and replace the maf with stock and re-check it?

OK thanks. The first thing I saw was the mods list.

If yer in to swapping stuff, try the DIS, then the coil pack.

Go buy a cheap fuel pressure gauge. Let us know what the pressure is during:

key on, engine off
engine at idle
WOT
Shut the engine off and watch the pressure gauge. You should still have at least 35psi (If i remember correctly) for several minutes after you have turned the engine off. After an hour, you will not see very much pressure if any at all.

dunno if it's got one but on a simular ford, that was equipped with an inline "boost pump" the pump had failed, it was suppose to come on around 4k to cover the fuel demands, so it was a restriction, I replaced the pump with a fuel filter and upgraded the tank fuel pump, and never had a problem with it after that.

My 1G did this when i first got it, took me awhile to find out what it was. The car would run decent until you went to get on it then it would just lay like a dead dog. I swapped a bunch of stuff with no prevail, until one day i got a bug up my ass and changed the plugs. Previous guy put in Bosch Platinum plugs and 2 of them were melted at the electrode so they weren't right (Garbage plugs). Threw in new motorcraft plugs and she runs like a beast.

May not be your problem but you never know just something else to take a look at.

Try cleaning your MAF.

You can use a non-residue electrical contact cleaner, or most auto parts stores now carry CRC MAF sensor cleaner. Because of the design of the stock MAF housing, it's best to remove the electronics to get the best access at the filaments.
