Stock Block Ready To Knock...er..Rock
So I made this list in January on Facebook for some of the pages there so I figured I'd throw it here. I see people talking intakes, downpipes etc, but this in my opinion, is the proper way to modify your SHO piece by piece. So here it is...
I was thinking today about the list in which I would modify my SHO if I were starting from the beginning knowing what I know now. So here is a basic list. Only listing mods that make power or help put it down and not like the aesthetics obviously. Not listing Methanol because that's fairly subjective and would **** up the entire listing. Would need to rearrange a few things with methanol added in
1) Tune and tune necessities (plugs and upgraded map)
2) Anthony DiCunzolo Trans Mounts. My favorite bolt on mod. **** wheel hop and crisps up the 1-2 shift
3)Gearhead intercooler. My number two favorite bolt on. These cars ******* heat soak like a **** and to anybody looking to make consistent power this is a great one.
4) Catless downpipes. PPE is what I personally run. Can't recommend them enough. Let those turbos free up some exhaust flow. Stock downpipe diameter is 1 7/8" and restricting things. Wrap them also to keep the PTU from having excessive extra heat on it.
5) EPP True Dual Intake. My god this thing just makes so much sense. Let's the turbos get their own intake tract so they aren't fighting each other. Also the induction noise is lovely.
6) XDI-35 HPFP. This one changes the car probably the most. Ability to max out the stock turbos and run e30+, but also a pricey item to have.
After this point I'd consider you "Full bolt ons." You can throw MSD coils in there at some point but I'd consider them non-essential however still beneficial. All these done and you are knocking at Upgraded turbos and DW300C LPFP. No custom exhaust after downpipes is listed because I figure it's a nonessential.
I personally recommend all of these and run all of these except for the EPP dual intake. I have the older J2 which is the same idea just not as nice.
Feel free to list out your recommended method to the madness if you feel like I didn't list things out properly. This is just IMO
