SO WHAT i have a 98 contour ZETEC ATX and a 89 pontiac LeMans 1.6 hatch and you don't see me bragging up about how i was a douche bag (sorry summer's eve) to some guy because he was driving a newer and nicer car than me, or ripping on the guy because he didn't know the factory specs. after all of your posts i've really wanted to tell that you sound like a *****. i don't think that you understand what being a car enthusiast is.

NO, I don't know how to be a real car enthusiast, I"m not you so hard to even understand what you mean or thinking of. On the other hand, so many things i tried to explain about that night , but you, *******, seem to get all the negative things about it. It is a free forum and if you don't like any ideas or stricktly against this thread, then don't participate in it and don't even check it out. That's exactly what i do, if I am not even interested in a topic, I pass it by.
By the way, LeMans, one of the first good american budget cars, that , for some reason were more popular in Europe then in USA. 5 for that car for you!

its your job to convey the context of that encounter. when i read your posts i get the impression that you felt your SHO was a nicer car vs the BMW. and that you were put off by a "rich kid" in a nicer car. therefore you were the aplha of this hate.

i read many topics i might not be interested in. why? because if i cant help with the situation. perhaps i can learn something i didnt know. and of course im always down to throw arrogant kids under the bus.

as for the LeMans, it was a bucket. always will be a bucket. and the K-Car was the saviour of the american econo cars.

I respect your response, honestly, even though you also had a wrong impression from what i told about a kid in a nice bmw. But like i said he pointed and asked me about the blue SHO if it was mine and then chilled. Kid is 21 with highest position in construction company, which is owned by his father. He tried to disrespect me first and then when I turned conversation towards cars, he showed some respect. In other words, cars seemed to him more of a status than anything else and probably because of my SHO he felt that there is someone who may be better than him even with an older car.
I know that guy's father very well, too and I know that they can get anything they want. My family isn't poor at all, and I don't have to fall down on my knees every time i see 2010 bmw 535i.If a kid at 21 can afford a new bmw, that is very good and I have nothing against it. My point is that sometimes people who value cars as part of their status would respect owner's of older SHO as if it was a very expensive car.

By the way, LeMans was a good get around car. I accidently put diesel in it one time, because we had 2 opel kaddets diesel and one LeMans. Couldn't figure out why it drove like a tructor.

then stop bragging about all of your cars and go back to the honduh forums.
and the reason the kadett/astra was popular in europe was because it was made there with quality parts, the LeMans (88-93) was made in korea and it's a tin can with a lawnmower engine and the worst 3 speed atx. hey maybe you can bi-turbo one of those. and while you're at it get some KDM engine parts overnighted in from Seoul.

as for the LeMans, it was a bucket. always will be a bucket. and the K-Car was the saviour of the american econo cars.

the LeMans is junk, it's a disgrace what GM did to the LeMans name when it rebadged the astra and then let the koreans build it. i feel shameful for owning the one i have.

you sounded like a ass and i've known several people with high-end cars and none of them respect me because of my SHO, the respect that i have from them is because of how i treat and their knowledge of me. people who see cars as a status symbols don't give a crap about a 15 year old car.

yep, you probably fall on your knees in front of them, so they figure it is all good, and they don't have to be ******* you. There is a very good writer Dale Carnegie and he wrote "How to Win Friends and Influence People". It is a self-help book about interpersonal relations.
Read that, grow up and then come talk, because every time you talk about respect and use word "douche", you sound like some 18 year-old.

YOu, know, sorry about disrespecting you, I get your point and you're right. I will consider your point of view and use it in my everyday life.

i don't want to "win" friends. i want to earn friends.

fwiw if you read this book, you didn't learn anything from it. you telling him to grow up is like the *** calling the kettle black.

fwiw i do not fall on my knees to other peoples cars. i personally respect wrench time on a car vs someone who buys a 2010 SS Camaro. however i don't think less if anyone that might own one. A persons attitude dictates how i deal with them. that being said. even your posts here are condescending.

Yes , you're right. I was trying a little too hard and lost myself for few posts.
You have your opinion and it is your right.
I would say that you just wrote exactly how i feel and would act in situations like that.
but name of that book is could be interpreted in that way as well:"win"-"earn".

ON weekends I work Valet sometimes for some extra cash and sometimes all
these situation occur there. I had a guy telling me that Any ford(not knowing that I drive one) is a piece of crap, but still would be nice to me;there were people that would almost tell me to go F*&^ myself instead of saying "Hello" back to me. This is how i test-drove New SHO. Salesperson, who was coming to this one bar, was impressed to see the old SHO(actually 3 of them) in a good condition being used as a DD and asked me to bring it to the dealership to show to others and as a favor he offered to test The new one.

Look guys, maybe we're going a little too far with this tread. Main topic was different from what we are discussing right now. In reality, i admire all of you, who drive SHO and know most of things about them, and I also understand that everyone of us have different life experiences. I appreciate everyone's opinion, but let's not get carried away with personal feelings.
Friends?
