^^exactly what I was thinking. Go to Walmart and buy a big container for like $5 or so. Put something thick on the bottom for cushion and added support and then tape the **** out if it.

I received mine from a member here. half of a blue plastic barrel (the big ones that looks like oil barrels) the tranny was in the bottom , for the cover it was a plywood cut to the opening, inserted in and screwed. I thought it was a pretty good idea.

I bought one of those big Rubbermaid type totes with the snap on lid. Put some plastic foam in the bottom and set in the trans. Stuffed more plastic foam all around it and on top. Then I snapped on the lid and drilled a bunch of holes around the rim. I put heavy duty plastic ties through all the holes I had drilled. Shipped it from Denver to the east coast somewhere and it arrived safely.

I sent three or four to Bizzy the same way except that I screwed plywood to the bottom of the plastic tote, from the outside. Then I screwed the bell housing to the plywood. I also cable tied the lid to the tote and labeled what was inside. I placed all four totes on a pallet and then screwed more plywood to the sides of the pallet to form a tough box that was still able to be picked up with a pallet jack or forklift. One of the old timer members here was a bigwig with a shipping company and he shipped it free of charge.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The Rubbermaid idea with foam and wood ought to do the trick.
