what do you all do for shift knobs?

mine is cracked and kinda moves when you try to push the shifter forward, its pretty annoying.....

I bought a pilot shift ****, I like how it looks and feels, but it doesn't go all the way to the leather boot like the stock one... also its put on with 3 allen screws and it works its way loose... I can't have that

so what should I do... I want one that connects to the stock shifter boot, one that screws on... and one that is preferably leather.....

would a mustang **** or such fit on our cars? like an old fox body 5.0 seems about the same............... I don't see much for SHO shift knobs, if a mustang one will work.. there are more of those for sale....

The only difference is that the mustang knobs have a different offset as far as the depth of the start of the threads, so it may sit higher then the SHO ****, but the threads are the same.

I used to have a nice Leather Cobra **** that I really liked... Grrrrrrr!!!

Just go HERE if you're still looking for a 'stang shiftknob

I have a **** from an 05 mustang GT. There are no threads in this ****, it just makes them as you turn it on to the rod.

Only thing you have to do is make the hole in the **** a bit bigger inorder to get it to go all the way onto the shifter rod.

0V3RC10CK3D, Thats the one I want. Looks good too. It would look better with a new leather shift boot under it.

I just bought one of these puppies.. I noticed that i have to widen the hole.. thats not a huge deal.. BUT, are there really no threads?

I cut that bottom part off of mine, and enlarged the hole... I looked in there and saw what I thought were threads, but I had already had the **** screwed on once. supposedly the threads are cut when the **** is screwed on, but I dont really see that happening.

If you don't want to spend alot of $$ and you have an Autozone near you they carry some plain round ones in a few colors, they do attach with set screws but I have had good luck with them not getting loose. Just an idea:wave:
