Im looking at a 93 SHO and the guy selling it cant seem to solve a computer problem. When driving under normal conditions the car will display the CHECK ENGINE light and cut off. We put it on a diagnostic machine and the codes came up fine. Does anyone know why it did this? What is it and how do we fix it? Im really falling for this car and would love to fix it, buy it, and become a part of your forum for good.

Cam or crank sensor.

You said the "codes were fine". What does that mean?

When the CE light comes on, DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are stored in the computer's memory for later retreival. You need to get and post those codes.

If the '93 you're looking at is an auto tranny you should know that the ATX is a weak tranny for the powerplant and the stock'93s are the weakest of all. Just FYI.
