Hello all,
I currently live in a rapidly changing but currently low income (ghetto) neighborhood and my SHO seems to be a crowd favorite to try and break into. I know our cars have a security system but no indicator light so I added one but last night someone attempted to break in again. Each time they don't get in but rather crack the front windows before fleeing, this costs approximately $300 per attempt. Does anyone have any ideas to further deter this act? My car is always parked in my driveway and motion lights were installed to illuminate if someone walks up to my car and I don't have a garage. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Gate on driveway, security cameras and a better alarm system that goes off when a defined proximity to the car is breached

Moving might be the only "real" option. I am all in favor of rabid dogs & robotic spikes to teach intruders a lesson, but they are not practical, usually.

Moving isn't an option as I don't rent. A proximity alarm is a good idea though, I'll be looking into those. Anyone have suggestions for a good one?

Hide somewhere and wait til you catch one of those bastards and then bust his head open. Worked for me!

You could use a trail cam. Find a good hiding spot though. Then youll have evidence for the police if they care.

Motion activated flood lights work fantastic. Might **** off your neighbors but in the end they will be thankful if it deters the bastards.
