seatback cracked

seatback leather and for some reason also backs of headrests badly cracked but not torn.Looks as though they need some serious softening..and later color!
any Ideas on both..?

-once they start cracking, theyll never be "normal" again, but you can help from future cracks, by taking care of it.....

Leather of this kind is spray painted after it is dyed. In fact, almost all leather is spray painted.

Even "fine corinthian" leather.

Don't know what kind of paint is used though.

seatback cracks

let me try this again....old leather...whats best for softening and/or refinishing?
some of the deteriorated areas are actually showing signs of mold..maybe sunroof leak in the past?
appreciate any insight
