My 2011 Sho drivers seat heater stopped working. Dash light comes and then goes out. I bought a new seat heater pad but cant find where the darn thing plugs in under the seat. Iv tried upplugging everthing and plugging everything back in. With no luck. im looking a schematic or blown up view of the seat and all the plugs. To see if the plug is hidden in the seat somewhere. Thanks

Does your SHO have the heated and cooled seats? If so, it doesn't use a heating pad. Instead it uses the TEC device for both the heat and cool functions. Does the cooling function seem to work?

Yes. it has the heated and cooled seats. And no, it turns on. lights come on on the dash. Then a few secounds later it shuts off. I ended up taking the seat out of the car and taking it apart before i saw this post. ugh. But i took the blower motor and heater out of the seat and plugged it in to the passenger seat and it worked fine. On heating mode and cooling mode. I also switched filters and they worked fine when i did that. Now i am thinking that there is a short in wiring under the seat. I ended up going over all the pins in the plugs to make sure they are tight and stright. I havent seen anyone on here having the same problem. Have you?

Nope, I don't recall reading of others having an issue where the seat comes on for a short amount of time then shuts off. Does the cooling function on the driver's seat function the same, or only the heat setting? What about if you turn the heat setting down to the lowest setting right away, does it stay on longer or still time out quickly?

Heat or cool is reacts the same. Same for hi med or low settings. The light comes on and then goes out after about 3 to 5 seconds. Though it might be the filters so i switched the filter from the drivers side to passenger side. And it worked fine. Heat and cool. So then I took the blower and heater assembley off from the drivers where its NOT working and connected it on the passenger side and it worked just fine. Heat and cool mode. Im stumped and the wifes ass is getting cold. So you know the saying Happy wife,....happy life.. lol. Pete

I looked through the factory service manual section for the climate controlled seats. Unfortunately, there are several issues that could cause the symptoms you have according to the symptom chart. There's no symptom for "climate controlled seat appears to power on, then shuts off after a short time" but rather the symptoms are more generic such as "Climate controlled seat fails to heat or cool - driver seat". There's also no self test mode that can be enabled and reviewed without the use of a scan tool. Unless you find a wiring issue, you're probably stuck finding someone with a professional scan tool that can access the climate controlled seat module and read the diagnostic codes.
