i have done a little research with the very usefull search button and i have found that the gen3 sho seats will bolt up to the gen 2. but i would like to dye it black to do a black interior swap. what are the steps to the process of dying it the right way for a finish that will last? is dupli-color vinyl spray a good option? and with splicing the wires is there any tips suggestions or instructions? any brand or die or spray recommended?:thankyou::thankyou:

You will be very unhappy when everything you sit on turns black, and your seats turn back to gray.

When leather is made...it's less of a dye and more like a spray paint.

Gen III seats are uber-comfy. But I never liked the look of them in a Gen I/II

If you really want black, just have them reupholstered.

Me neither...

SEM dye is good, but I'm suspicious about it's durability on a seat. However, it's not like they pick out black cows for black interiors, so there must be some good permanent way to color them.

Not only that, but if its going to be a track car for you.. why dont you just get racing seats? If i could afford them i would.. Those stockers are soo heavy.. i about killed myself carrying them up and down stairs all day when i was doing my swap.. They feel like 90 pounds or so..

If you have a spray gun and compressor I can make you a color to redye the seats. If you prep them really good it will last along time.

yeah i have a paint booth and mixing room. but the reason i was thinking about it was because i have a gen 3 with cam failure and my seats are pretty worn. plus they are leather.
