Got a 2015 SHO with about 140K miles on it

Last night I got a Check Charging system warning while driving, suddenly the power steering would cut out when I would stop. As I drove, more and more accessory systems started cutting out. I got home and committed to looking at it more in the morning. In the morning, it started right up and I started to drive the Check Charging system came back on and the power steering faded out on cue.

Then power to the engine started to fade and the entire car died. Charged the battery with an external battery and the vehicle will not start.

Any thought? I love this car but hate it at the same time!

You'll likely get better response if you posted in the correct forum.

How old is the battery? Have it checked. If the battery test good, likely a bad alternator. Though it could be a wiring problem. If you have access to a code scanner, you may be able to get a code that will help figure out the problem.

The power steering cuts out first because it uses more power than anything other electrical system.

I can't believe you limped home like that, actually made it, and then thought it would be alright the next day. Kids these days? Last time that happened to me, I barely made it off the highway to a gas station. This was in a 2007 Toyota Camry a couple years ago. It was the alternator that kicked the bucket.

When you wrote the "vehicle will not start" does it do anything? Does the starter engage and spin the engine, it just doesn't start, or do you not even get a click? Does the instrument cluster power up when trying to start the car?

For you initial symptoms I would have guessed the alternator as well since it acted up while driving, and since the power steering is electric assist, it would certainly point to a battery and charging system issue.

I would say the alternator is done, and with all of the load put on the battery, it probably killed it too...even if you charged it.
