Well, after 6 months with a few delays here and there, my suspension is nearly complete -- 96 brake upgrade, tokico's, ss brake lines, new rear calipers, tpr bushings all the way around, tires, rear brake bias plugs, moog cc's, and new inner and outer tie rods. We also got the strut mount plate re-welded, and found that the ABS toner ring on the passenger side front was cracked and ended up rubbing on the lower control arm before I managed to completely take it off.

So, I have yet to try an emergency stop with everything tightened down for fear of flatspotting the new tires without ABS. But, theres one more thing I need some advice on.

I'm running moog cc862 (gen1, 90, 1.5 coils cut) springs in the front and while installing it appeared that the springs extended every so slightly beyond the upper spring mount, which leads to a very annoying deep-chirping noise turning the wheel -- I'm guessing that the springs are rubbing inside the strut tower. What are my best options here? Finding a larger spring/strut bearing? Different springs (cc858s), or heating and trying to re-coil the spring (probably a bad and/or dangerous idea).

We have to go back and install the half shaft for the toner ring, and finish the tension strut bushings and steering rack bushings (btw, anyone know which ones to purchase? I can't find a specific application, only 2 part numbers - moog k8422 and moog k8263) and aluminum subframe bushings and then the darn thing will be done!

Someone may have a better opinion, but how far out of spec is your caster, ive heard of "coil bind" from caster being way off and the spring rubbing the tower.

Don't think its the caster -- the ride height is the same, along with the tension struts. Plus it was aligned immediatly after (well, within 10 miles) of the new suspension being dropped in.

Check the pie tins behind the brake discs. When I put the H&R springs on the front of my Sable, we had to remove and reinstall the pie tins with pop rivets, and it seems that when we did, the lower portion of the pie tins were in contact with the disc, and under certain circumstances, I would hear a nasty scraping noise.

Drilled the dust shield off. It'll chirp turning the steering wheel side to side.
