Running a Tad hot?

The 96 has seemed to be running a little warm lately, Ecspecially with this heat wave, The gauge however will fluctuate, depending wether we are at idle at a stop-light, or going 35-45 down the street, Obviously getting cooler with speed. Here is an example:



This was taken, At Idle, now it will actually rise a little bit more then this, But not to much. However, I am thinking its doing pretty good, seeing how it was 108 degrees outside When the picture was taken. So what do you guys think, Is it running to warm, Or is this just about right, giving that the weather this past couple of weeks has rarely been below 105 degrees.

Check your overflow tank for cracks (not necessarily leaks), also your ECT if the fans aren't coming when the temp gauge points to about 25mph or higher on the speedo). Also look to see if you're radiator hoses are starting to collapse at that temp.

Your radiator fins are probably clogged up with fibers.

I have to agree with 123 i had the same thing took the radiator out and it was totally clogged.

Looks like it is running pretty hot. It was 101 degrees sitting in traffic on the way to work today and the temp gauge was just under half way. It never gets any higher.

Once mine gets to just under 1/2 way it sits there and has never moved higher. Even with temps in the high 90s/low 100s and me driving somewhat spirited.
