durring normal conditions or in hot weather when im at steady throttle ill pull around 2100 rpms @60mph. but if its cold out or the car has not properly warmed up it may pull up to 2500 rpms at the same speed. is this normal for a 93 axod? and what speed does overdrive engage
plus sometimes when its cold its seems to have more power why is that?

My 95 auto does the same thing. Someone told me that it won't shift into OD till it gets to normal operating temp.

Another factor in the inaccuracy of the tachometer is that it is an electronic meter that is affected by the resistence in the DIS module. At very cold temperatures, the resistence is lower and the indicated RPM can be noticeably higher than normal. With a manual gearbox, there is no other way to get higher rpms at the same indicated road speed.
