The only things changed are the down pipes...and now the mufflers.

Everything else is factory.

I did this at my buddies shop. The sound outside the car is great. I am going to look at buying a set of Dynomax after driving for a short time.

As Gimpy said there is a bad drone around 25 MPH that makes it sound horrid in the car. As for highway speeds it has a bit(very minimal) of drone at 70-75 MPH but if you have your radio on a very load setting it cancels it out.

At WOT there is no drone and it sound great but low RPM under load it is just a little noisy in the car.

^that^

Around town inside the car, it's like your typical AutoZone race boy with a Honda Civic. However, outside the car it sounds fantastic...like a modular Mustang, more towards a DOHC (32v Cobra/Mach) with a bit of grumble.

The drone on the highway is minimal, but again...sounds great outside the car. I had a friend drive my SHO and tailed him to confirm this.

Reality is, if you can tolerate the 'ricer-like' noise inside the car, it sounds completely different to whoever ISN'T inside the car.

I don't know what it is about the SHOs, but every one I've ridden in (with exhaust work) has a type of drone, it's inevitable I guess.

Has anyone else installed the Aero AR 25 at this point? If so any feedback? I love this car but it is too quiet....

So it have had the Aero AR25's on for a little over a month and a half. I have notice that they have tamed down. Not sure if this is from hearing loss or a little carbon build up. :p

At highway speeds I have noticed that the drown is almost gone. Really the only time I notice it now is when I am driving up hill in 3rd at about 2500RPM.

I have $60 in my Axel back exhaust. I would say it is worth doing if you are looking for a quick cheap fix. I am still trying to figure out what I will upgrade to, but for now the AR25's have fix the issue of the extreme sleeper exhaust.

Hello everyone,

I read this entire thread last night and I've found the AR25's on eBay. Just so I'm clear - this resonator replaces the stock resonator and everything else stays the same (factory DP's, factory exhaust and axle back?)

I want to switch out my axle backs for Magnaflow or MRT, something with a bit more sound.

I also plan on doing DP's in the future - so I'm curious how it'll sound with DP's.

Thanks everyone!

They replace the factory mufflers. Making it the new axel back.
As far as I know no body has replaced the resonator with one of these.

This...

I have catted DPs and had the AR25s welded in where the OEM mufflers were.

I was planning on buying some of these AR25's but I don't want the ricer like sound inside.

I went out and took some video and attempted to hit the most common driving conditions.

AR-25 Axel-Back

Not too bad. I'm not sure how I feel about the interior cabin sound. Sounds slightly like a fart can, but when you get on it - it's got a nice tone to it.

You bought (2) of these and used these as your mufflers correct? So these are your new axle backs?

Correct. I removed the stock mufflers and welded on the AR-25's.

I am still wanting to hear what the Dynomax mufflers sound like in the car and outside. I know I am not a fan of the Corsa or Borla exhaust and at there price points I would not only want them to sound good I would also expect more performance out of them.

Also - thank you very much for the videos! Greatly appreciated man. It's exactly what I was looking for and probably what most people on here are looking for.

Yeah I understand. I was looking for something like this but when I saw I could just through these on for $60 I figure it was worth a shot.

I also wanted to point out that I was trying to find the worse case scenario for the drone with these videos. In almost all them I am going up hill and that is where the exhaust is the most drowny.

Thanks a lot man! For $60 and labor costs - not bad at all. I might try it soon.

I was curious what would happen if I deleted the first muffler back and straight piped or something

I don't hear any drone in all the videos. Sounds great!
Thread bump because I finally installed these on my car. From idle to 2100 rpm's and 2600 rpm's to 6200 rpm's these sound great and are exactly what I wanted in the car. Outside the car they always sound great no issues at all. But from 2100 rpm's to 2600 rpm's they have TERRIBLE drone. I'm going to give it several weeks before making a final decision, but I'm on the fence about taking them off and installing the stock mufflers again. The problem is that when accelerating normally my car always runs from about 2000-2600 rpms and it's a bad continuous drone until I get up to speed and rpm's drop below 2000. Again, outside the car they sound great all the time.
