hi guys - i'm trying to remove the cables to do the rod shifter conversion without cutting the cables. Is there a way to do it? The hole in the firewall is not big enough to pull the cable through with the end on it. I'm thinking maybe Ford put the cable through and then crimped the big disk near the end on the sheath. thanks, Bill

I've pulled a few out but its been a while. I think both will go out in the directon pass compartment -> engine compartment.

yeah, they fit through. iirc, there may be a clamp in the passenger side of the firewall that tends to keep them in place.

yup - I had to remove a bracket up near the firewall (interior side) under the vent that goes to the rear seat heater. once that was off, the cables pulled through from the inside. thanks guys
