What is the right stuff for different threads when reassembling after valve adjustment?
I see the recomendation for antisieze stuff for spark plugs in recent discussion.
What about the bolts for the valve cover and the intake to head bolts? I have seen the "dip in oil" suggestion. I do not want them to sieze but I don't want them to get loose either. I will use torque wrench, but have had various suggestions at shops from nothing ("will then stay tight") to oil to a "mild" loctite. What is right?
Also what about the threads for the temp guage sender and the engine coolant temp sender?
And while I am at it, what about the treads for the Oxygen sensors?
Thanks

The manual says to coat the intake to head bolts in oil, but I have used anti-seize or nothing. In my climate, it doesn't really matter. In non salt-free zones, you should use some type of protective anti-oxidant coating.

The valve cover bolts usually have a pre-oiled condition from their location, so no additional coating is required. Just don't torque tham greater than 10 lb-ft. Once the flanged seating surface on the bolt contacts the flat surface on the head's thread bosses, they aren't going to move any more. You will only break the bolt or strip the aluminum threads in the heads.

Oxygen sensors come pre-coated with anti-seize so if you remove them, you should re-apply the same.

Any threads into the cooling or oiling systems should be Teflon taped for pressure retention.
