The 92.

When I put it in reverse with a load on engine(let out clutch) the drive line goes nuts. I've never experienced a broke motor or tranny mount on a MTX so I'm not quite sure what to look for. As soon as I let the clutch all the way out, its fine...its only when I let out slow. I don't wanna drop the clutch all the time in reverse, now what I mean?

Now, BAMSHO(previous owner) said that the mounts are heavy duty and he doesn't think that they could be broke. He suggested it was the derlin SFBs. Or the missing tq limiter(near tranny mount one, not the passenger side one)

Adam(Trojan Man) and I just installed a used clutch/flywheel(3K on both) and a new PP and TOB(sho nut or equivelent) so I don't really think its the clutch cause forward gears are fine. Its only reverse. I mean the force shakes the whole front end of my car(think that is how my computer got dislodged) Previous owner said it didn't do this with the stock SFBs but I dunno about all that. LMK what you guys think and what I should do to check it out. The engine obviously moves...but when the clutch is all the way out in reverse and I goose the throttle...it doesn't move. It does kindda move at an idle but I don't know if its a mount or not. I can't really tell if it is busted from looking up at it from under car. Thanks guys

Interesting, while it's hard to tell from your description it sounds like some sort of chatter. Did you guys have the flywheel resurfaced? Chatter can be the result if the flywheel is not true. Totally guessing here and I would think that chatter would be present in forward gears as well... shrug

I'm going to agree with Beth and say you have a chattering issue with your PP, disc or flywheel. The first problem that comes to mind is your used clutch disc. However, it does seem strange that the problem doesn't arrise when you accelerate in forward gears. Try putting the car in 4th gear before putting her in reverse. Let's wait for the experts to chime in here...

I don't think its the clutch cause when I have the front end off the ground, I can let the clutch out slow all day long w/o a problem. Its only when I have a load on the engine...again, its only in reverse. I can get the car to move if I slip the clutch enough to get it rolling, then take foot off gas, let clutch out fast, and I'm going back wards with no problem. I think I'm gonna take the car to my Uncles shop in Rochester and see if he can tell me. It might be awhile before I do that though...like next week sometime. I'm rather busy at the moment...not to mention broke.

What else could it be?

I agree with what Jay said in the previous post, the rear motor mount sounds like the problem to me. If you have the hood open andthe car on the ground with the ebrake on, and you start to engage reverse (putting a load on the motor) does the back of it rise up more than ~1/2 inch? Any unnecessary movement will cause a chatter. If both you and the previous owner had the problem, and with different clutches, I'm gonna venture to say thats not the problem.

And your missing Engine Damper isn't helping things at all.

I'd blame bamsho
If you saw the car, you would not want to blame BAMSHO. I could sell the car for 3K...bought it for 1500. Its the 92 in my sig. Just had to put in a clutch, tob and pp. Things happen with 10+ year old cars.

Where can I get some stock engine dampeners?
