Replacing the entry keypad?

I tried the search feature, must be not searching correctly.

Can someone post a link re: replacing the entry pad? My 5/6 button works about 25% of the time and then I really have to press the button hard.

It was much easier when the keypad was on the door above the handle, such as mine is on the Edge.

no, there is not a keypad for the passenger side.

no, it will not start working better if you try to use it more. the touch-type keys are very prone to failing, and in my experience only replacing it fixes it. the replacement parts are supposed to be better life, but I'm not sure if there is a real improvement or not.

It gives me fits when cold (80*) in the morning. It works ok lunch time when warm (95*) and flawlessly when hot outside (110*)

I just did this a week ago on my son's 2011......I didn't have to remove any of the window track bolts/nuts, nor did I remove the door handle and that may have helped, but I did remove the chrome molding and in the process broke the two main clips on it.....there are several moldings still on ebay and on Amazon, do yourself a favor, go ahead and buy it...AG1Z5421453A....there are some crazy clips on it..I don't care how careful you are, you'll break them....also, go ahead and remove the rear view mirror, it will help immensely...yes, had to strip the door card and pull back the plastic sheeting to get access. The only thing I could not get to was the small white plastic retainer/holder about half way up the cable on the cord for the new panel. There's a hole in there, but I could not get to it....and I didn't want to, didn't think it would matter had I removed any thing else..... all in all, if I had the trim piece in hand, the whole thing would have only taken me about 3 hours. Taking the door card off took the most time. Getting all the double sided tape off the B-pillar took the second most time. Removing the chrome trim piece is the only way to get enough room to fit the plug down between the sheetmetal of the door and the glass.....just brake off the trim piece and then there's plenty of room.....I was extremely pleased afterward...I really don't think missing that one holder on the cable will ever be a problem....the glass is far enough away from it, the cable will never intefere....the holder is probably easy to get to when assembling the empty door, but I didn't think it necessary.....just having the keypad work again is too wonderful to describe.....we can now go back to just tossing the keys in it and locking it.....it's just one of those things that once you get used to it, not having it is such a pain.....

Well, I can unlock my car when I dont have the key and open my garage door. Or I can give the number to someone to unlock the car and open a garage door to get a house key.

As some do, but I dont condone, the keys can be locked in the car and you can walk away.

From.the key pad you can lock the keys inside the car. You can open the trunk.

If the key fob is dead, and the door lock cylinder is rusted shut because you never use it, you can open the door.

Darn it, that reminds me I need to lubricate my lock cylinder and make sure it works.

Seems like it would be a good feature if you rent your car on Turo too. Just park the car at a pre-designated spot and text the renter the code to get in. Just change the code after each rental.
