If I'm not mistaken is an 8" right? What's a good replacement for it? Polk audio makes a few nice 8" subs, and I haven't really looked at much else, but I've heard of someone using a Cerwin Vega on the stock amp, and being suprised at the results... Any input?

Actually it is a 6" sub. JL Audio makes a 6W0 that would drop right in, but there are some that have fabbed the stock speaker box to accomadate the 8".

I am just going with a different box altogether. I have to install a regular strut tower brace that forced the stock box's removal.

I installed an 8" sub from Parts Express the other day. It is in a .35 ft^3 sealed box and the voice coils in parallel. It sounds great. I am running it off the stock amp. I don't plan on upgrading to a different amp as I don't have a need to do that. I don't know the volume of the stock box, but an 8" sub could easily be adapted to the stock box. Here's a link to the sub I used: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-480

I don't care how hard it "hits", so long as it SOUNDS GOOD, and makes its presence known... well known. Think the Cerwin's a good choice?

Well, really, I just want to improve my overall sound for now, because I can't afford a whole speaker system yet. I found some good Pioneer 6"x8"s for the rears, and 5.25" are easy to get. It's just that I want to know if the factory amp will push that Cerwin sub, or any decent sub for that matter.

They're 6.5"s? My friend is an install tech at Best Buy, and he said 5.25, I used to work there and I even checked it myself... Is the SHO system different than that of a regular Taurus??? (That's most likely a stupid *** question).

Just replaced all my speakers... Best Buy is wrong. They are 6.5" speakers in the front.

They are definetly 6.5" in the front. If you have a Crutchfield catalog look in there they list the years and makes of a bunch of cars and what size speakers they have up front and in back.

Oh, I don't doubt they're wrong. I was a salesman there, and they kept writing me up for being "unbecoming of a Best Buy employee". In the sales meetings, they'd intro a new computer, and talk about all the great things it does. Of Course, old rebelious me, would bring up the points where they were wrong, and all the things it WOULDN'T do.

That's the program Best Buy uses, but they don't have the Options menu, to pick which stereo you have...
