Shopower,

Helm was (still is) the publisher/distributor of OEM service manuals (Workshop Manual) for Ford.
For information regarding Ford publications call 1-800-7824356.

You can also write to Ford Publications, Care of Helm, Inc., PO Box 07150, Detroit MI 48207.

The Taurus/Sable manuals for your model year may, or may not, be available as a new item from Helm. If it is not available from Helm, try e-Bay or the various SHO web sites for a used set of manuals.

There is also a CD available with the manuals on it, but I do not know what years are available in this format. I think I read that it was being sold on e-Bay!

The other publishers of "shop manuals" are; Haynes, Motors, Mitchels, and Chiltons, to name a few. Hope this helps, rangerj

I would get nothing but the factory (Helms) manual. They have twice as many pages and are for one year only. Lots of good info.

i had a hard time finding the haynes manual so i got the chiltons, its not bad either, good reference.
I suggest you don't get the haynes one, I have it and it has some stuff but for the the engine it has nothing.

I picked up a shop manual from Russ a few weeks ago. Nice guy. Easy payment and fast shipping. His email addy is [email protected].
I second that, I bought every manual for my '90 from Russ. He grades the condition and discounts accordingly.

The haynes manual is for tauri in general. It is not SHO specific. Infact, it is pretty much useless for SHO stuff. It has nothing at all for the SHO drivetrain.

The bootleg service CDs are still available. One seller actually uses the nickname of "superhonest1". There's some irony there....
