Hey all, I'm getting ready to remove the non functioning A/C compressor, from what I found on the site is that I have to either gut it and keep core or fabricate a braket to hold the Alternator, is this right (I have an 89 mtx) If I opt to remove completly like i'm sure some of you have which 4 rib belt have you used?
Thx

use a gutted compressor, get a 420K6 sized belt, route it under the tensioner, tighter, collect winnings.

The company of the belt wont matter just ask for that size. And like was said the compressor acts as part of the structure between the engine and the motor mount with it removed it will break the cast bracket in time.
