At 5800 feet above sea level, the car pulled a 13.948 @ 107.73 MPH.

Here's the time slip, sorry it's blurry my cell phone isn't taking the best pictures right now:

13

I was racing a Dodge neon(first gen) pushing a lot of boost that usually hits low 13's and high 12's, but he bogged it off the launch.

Nice. I wanna get into the 13 but N/A. I am close only .35 secs away

I am suprised by the 1/8 mile time. You are making all your power up high. How was the traction in 1st and 2nd. spinning.

keep in mind my best time before was a 14.8 on a 75 shot of nitrous at this altitude. 13's are a big leap for this car. I'm not only spinning(in first and second), I'm bogging off the launch, and slipping the clutch to the point where it's starting to overheat and slip at high rpm in 3rd and 4th. I damn near stopped my wheel hop issues, but the squat needs to stop in the rear now.

I really need to do more weight reduction soon(the hood and trunk still need to be gutted). Hopefully soon, the interior will come out for a good scraping of the "tar" sound deadening, and removal of unneccessary components under the dash.

Basically what I'm gunning for is a full(looking) interior that is as light as possible without destroying the stock look to much

Brett

Do a search under my forum name and remote turbo to find a ton of info, vids, and pictures, but here's one thread with a few links to other threads in it. The whole setup has changed since then, but you get the idea.

Kool sounds like it will be one **** of a ride!!
But one question. What are you going to do about the 60ft and weight transfer? As we both know this is the most important part and the worst thing about the car.(figures) The weight reduction will also help alot.
And I am guessing you have DR's. And what size wheel/tire you running?

I wanna get some DR for some basketweaves but w/ the damn 13" brakes I would have too switch to stock just for racing. I honeslt think with that and a nice cool day my car will run a high 13 pass

Traction/wheelie Bar FTW  seriously i think it would help alot

I'm running nitto nt555's(not the R compound drag tires) in a 235/45/17 on some 17X7 fittipaldi flame rims. I'm launching out of the groove, because when I'm in the groove, It bogs(almost dies) off the launch. I need the wheel spin I'm getting from being out of the groove just to get down to a 2.3 60 foot. When I'm in the groove, I'm getting 2.8's and bogging badly. I'm going to look into some sort of anti squat device for the rear, and hopefully get the car lighter to prevent as much weight transfer to the rear as possible.

I've got two sets of the fittipaldi flames, and I'm looking into drag radials at the moment. I like the idea of having a 245/45/17 nitto NT555R on there but don't like the idea of running that on a 7" rim. Although, it is a drag radial that I'll be running at a low psi, so it would have full contact, it's still far from optimal. with this setup, the tread patterns on the car would almost match...:) otherwise I'm going to go with a 225/45/17 BFG g-force T/a drag radial which is a way better choice for a 7" rim.

we better step it up with somedudes car. lol

but back on topic, get some rear spring blocks. alex has the urethane ones and they worked great (definantly helped put the car into the 12's)

also, did you pull timing out in the lower rpm range? when we did the turbo sho i pulled timing out over most of the rpm range because i didnt know how fast it would spool. this caused most of the bog his car had in the early days. after i put it back to stock in the areas where we couldnt build boost it pepped right up again

do it up, put that car into the 12's !

I've been rasing timing at the low end again, but it's still not done yet. Where did you get the spring blocks?

Is this car gonna make it to the Convention? I'd love to see it run the 1/4 at a lower altitude and see what kind of times it rips....(well, I won't be there in person, but I'm sure somebody will be recording the drags)

I'm not going to make it. I really want to, but money and work does not permit... Thanks for all the praise. I'm going to try and make it out to see Tim do the standing mile with Jason. Maybe whiule I'm there, I'll see about going to a track in Oklahoma

If you're coming through Oklahoma, and stopping by Tulsa, have Tim give me a call. He's got my number and I'll readily make the 2 hr drive to Tulsa to hang out with some other SHO guys.... again.

No, he is referring to the Standing Mile race at the Sandhills Open Road Challenge. It is on a little strip of smooth 2-lane in the middle of Nebraska.
