Remote mount turbo updates!

So I finally figured out the problems I've been having... I removed the intercooler and fixed ta few things here and there and now I'm hitting full boost in every gear. First, second, and third gears are almost useless if the tires are cold. Even if the tires are warm first is still useless and second is not much better. I'm still fully untuned, and it's hiccupping really bad at the top of the gears. A friend was driving behind me in his Jeep and said I was pouring black smoke from running so rich.

So here are the details:
10-13 P.S.I. in all gears and lag is almost eliminated. In first, boost starts to build at about 3,000 rpms and hits 10 shortly after. In second, boost will FULLY build within 500 rpms of flooring it. Third and fourth just get better and better.

I've been getting a few *** here and there asking questions about my setup and I have not been able to respond. I'm sorry for this, but I will soon have it tuned and dyno'd and the whole turbo kit will be put out here for the forum to see. I've got drag radials and new rims on the way as well as a 13" brake upgrade sitting in my back seat. The only things I want to do to the car now are a wideband setup, re-do my intake piping(air filter setup), and finish the exhaust work(turbo downpipe and add a flex pipe).

To whom it may concern:
Whoever said a remote mount turbo was a joke, come to Denver and drive my car and say that afterwards.:thumb:

I bet they ALL back down....
I want a ride though.

What clutch are you running?
What about the Fuel system? (i think i asked before, but its been awhile since then)

I like to run my car against it. That is once i get the weight reduc. done, and the 100 shot in...

Next time anyone of you come down, I'll give all the rides I can.

right now I'm running a southbend DXD clutch. it seems to be holding fine, for now, but I will most likely upgrade to a stage III CM clutch.

Fuel system:
44 LB accel injectors(old style)
255 pump
SHOnut adjustable FPR

Bring the car, I'd actually like to see who's is faster! ;).

Rhett and Josh, if you come to Colorado don't even think you are gonna get away with out getting a ride and most likely a test drive as well! :) Rhett has already driven it so he'll be able to feel the difference.:thumb:

It's definitely fast, however, I didn't experience too much wheel spin when I was beating the **** out of the car. I'd say it is close to about how fast my car was before I spun a rod bearing.... But not quite.

I did race a 3000GT last night. They guy was laughing at me with some girls in the car. I tried to get him to race and then took off after he didn't do anything but laugh, then he tried the ricer flyby. He had speed built up from catching up, so I downshifted to 3rd and let her rip. By the time he got in front of me, I pulled with ease. Then I proceeded to RUN away. The girls were laughing as the car passed me, then the WTF looks came when I passed them.

It definitely needs some work in the tuning department, however, the TwEECer has been ******* me off lately. I get so many problems with it now when I use my computer. Sometimes CalCon doesn't work, then when I put a new program in the car, the fan comes on.... and so on. I'm going to completely wipe the computer and start over on his tuning. I want to change his injector offset to essentially bring the injector slopes, both high and low, to 44... or there abouts.

If I had to guess, I'm going to say that he's putting down anywhere from 300whp - 350whp with respective torque. This feels a lot like a centrifical SC, but it puts you in your seat nicely!

Scott, you'll have to race Sergio's stock SHO on video so people will realize how fast the car is.

Yep and he saw it a couple of months ago when he bought some of the parts I had for sale. Unfortunatly it wasn't put together and I couldn't take him for a ride.

Scott, good to see that you have worked out a few bugs, as we discuseed you're gonna have to experiment with a dust shield for the filter.

Sucks for him.... JK:nut:

Terry, you ought to take a ride in Scott's car again... It's much faster/responsive now.

So Scott, who told you to remove the intercooler and sand sock?:laugh_ti:

I never would have believed a filter could restrict power on an FI car, but I've now seen it twice.

Terry, do you have a picture of your new filter? Perhaps a comparison of the two?

Same one I had before the blower. It's the one that Autozone keeps on the self.

I've always thought a remote mount is a good idea on a Taurus

props to someone for finally doing it!
